The interface on the iphone okay. If there was a way to use catagories like the website it would be much easier to use. Scrolling one by one is kind of a whip, also instead of buttons maybe a finger swipe. When you zoom in the detail is a little grainy. The concept is cool and the website is great. I not trying to be a richardhead mainly because you were nice enough to make app free, just wishful thinking.

Thanks for your comment.
I just started studying iPhone app development, and random pose is first edition of my applications.
So there is a lot of things that i can not do yet.
I definitly agree that I should implement swipe paging.
As I learn develpment sill, I hope it will be fixed.

I appreciate your response. I don’t know squat about how the apps work but I downloaded Endless Walls which is a wallpaper program. Basically it runs through them like a slide show and has a pause button. So you stop it on the picture you want and even flip back to a previous picture but can go forward. You can set the time in which an image is displayed before moving on to the next.
Your images are really cool and I just enjoy looking at them. It makes me feel like I am Superman and have xray vision.
Lot’s of luck. I really do love your app and will make post my comments on iTunes.

When I got sponser or advertise to manage server triffec fee, I think i can make slideshow like app.
Thanks your comment! I will keep my app better.

First of all, thank you so much for all you do to improve and maintain the site. This is a great tool for me to use on my iTouch! I’m about to go and sketch on my bed and take a break from sitting at the computer doing the 30 second pose thing. Just wanted to say that the program crashes if you’re not connected to wifi. This should be a quick fix, just display a connection error first then quit… On second thought, maybe it’s not a crash and you just made it to quit? Either way, to be user friendly… could use that small tweak. And I’m looking forward to the finger flip. That was the first thing I tried to see another image. Keep up the great working man! Doumo arigatou gozaimasu!

Just finished using Random Pose. Another suggestion would be to be able to disable the auto-lock feature while the app is running to save the user from running back and forth to the system settings. Auto-lock HAS to be off for this program to be effective. Lovin’ it so far though!

Whenever I found the way to solve server traffic fee problem, I will release 30 sec drawing as well. If I release it for free, I think my site gonna be dead.
>Ty
Yes, I agree with you. I definitry need to disable autolock. Also I check the connection bug, that you mentioned.
Thanks

I agree with what Ty mentions above regarding the wifi. I’m wondering this though: how about an offline version? There have been times where I’m on the airplane and I won’t have wifi :(. I’m willing to throw down 30 megs on my ipod to have an offline version. It’s a sweet app so far. I really like it!

This is brilliant, I have no internet at home, so I use this to get poses in the few spare minutes I have on the net. But my partner has an iphone (which I use every now and then) and I heard about this and flipped out i was so happy! lol

Hey, this is the coolest program I’ve ever seen. I use it all of the time, replacing the lame little wooden articulated figure all artists use. My question is this - is there any way of getting this program for a Mac desktop computer? Many of my students have Macs, but not iPhones or iPod touches. They would use this program as much as I. Thanks!

yep, this should be added to the future request.
Thanks

This site, the applications/ program, and the overall concept here is GREAT! I like the idea of the timed random poses for practice. I actually started off looking for mannequins with more range of motion (i.e. horizontal/ side-to-side leg movement) than most of the ones I’ve seen, or virtual even software with virtual models. Eventually I found more than I expected, and I love the fact this is all free!
I was wondering however, if there was a version of the software I could download to my PC without having iTunes, an iPod, an iPhone, or anything else Mac related that begins with the letter “I”.
Thanks,
Steve.

Instead of my last email, a simple question to ask would be, do you have a downloadable version of the flash application the site. I would love the opportunity to use the program while I was offline and on the go!

>Stephen
We only have iPhone or online PC/Mac version of apps.
Because of too much data amount, (its more than 2GB), I have no idea to distribute offline version in this moment.
I hope for the future, I could release fully offline version.
Thanks

With regards to distributing an offline version, it might be a good idea to use bittorrent for this, as the uploading is shared amongst peers (which will greatly reduce your bandwidth usage).

I love using the website and I love the idea of having it on my iPod but it crashes whenever I use it. I have the 2.0 software, but whenever I open it, it closes. ={ Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks. The ability to use catagories and the finger swipe would be great and all, but as it is, simply thanks. I love the random feature. It forces me to practice with poses I might not otherwise consider.
December 18th, 2008 at 10:49 am
I love the website and this is a great idea. I was wondering if there is any way to make it run on computer. one of my computers is not connected to the internet so it would be awesome to be able to download a program with all of the poses in it for use on that computer since it’s where I do most of my art. thanks.

This app is only available for the iPhone/iPod touch, not the independent iPod music player… correct?

Great app - I agree with the other comments and hope many of the website features can be incorporated into future upgrades - especially the durergrid.
January 29th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
just wanted to say i love the app. thanks! i have a suggestion for the website: it would be cool to have a viewer with only close-ups of heads.
January 30th, 2009 at 7:09 am
Ty
Yes. I believed it to be some sort of bug!
This is an amazing idea, and if there were to be an offline version, I would be greatful - even if it meant using up a couple gb’s on my touch, as I am not allowed to use wifi as it costs alot (am a young teen).
Keep up the amazing work!
February 12th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
could u make one for just hands too? (a 30 second viewer) that would be awesome. this is my favorite website.
another idea for a site would be to make a viewer that shows random photos of landscapes or still lifes for about 1 minute and u can make quick value studies.

Will there ever be a version for other smartphones/palmphones?
I would LOVE to have this on my HTC Diamond, on windows mobile.
I really hope this will be possible one day.

I am wondering if you guys have developed or are thinking of developing a Vista Sidebar Gadget for the ‘Random Pose Viewer’. I have looked and thought of developing one myself, I believe that would be quite an Item to have.
April 9th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
I just downloaded the Random Pose Viewer app on my ipod touch. First of all: thank you;) it is great work - i like it! however there is something i’d love to see in the next version. It would be so cool, when the pictures would be saved on the ipod localy, that i can use them just everywhere.
Another suggestion i have is probably harder to realize:
how about loading the 3d models into the app. so that you can turn and rotate them around und observe them from every possible camera ankle.
sorry guys for my unprofessional english

I have to say I really appreciate this app. I used the web version all the time for illustration reference and having a portable version is awesome(made my day when I saw it in the app store). Like jimmeny mentioned, a section for hands would be great. It would be nice if there was a way to find multiple views of the same pose and to be able to keep a history of your favorite poses(to go back to them later). Overall an excellent app>:)

MAN!!! This is a GREAT idea!!!!! WHEN WILL THE OFFLINE VERSION BE OUT!!! I neeeeeddddd this to work on my itouch…but….I live in the middle of nowhere and absolutely NO isp will go out there to supply internet. Sad I know. I’ll remove some of my music to fit this on there if it’s 2 or 3 gigs!! MAN I wish this was offline!! But I absolutely LOVE it on the rare occasions Im online!! :D Would definitely appreciate a ballpark estimate of when the offline version might be in production or even out! Thanks bro!
