Toy Camera simply converts iPhone’s cheap camera to lovely toy camera like lomo.
Now we have a flickr group!
This app has no setting panel, no complex feature, just take a photo and you get nicely effected pictures.

When you launch app, it shows camera view.
After taking photo, processing step starts. It takes few moment.
Finally you got picture with lovely toy camera effect. This app has several effect setting and, it will be selected randomly whenever you use. You can not predict how you can take a photo. Enjoy.

I do really like this app. That said, I’d like to seetwo more thingsin it:
-more info in the picture (geolocalisation, time, camera: iPhone, etc…) the type of info that might be usefull when using the pictures (classifying, exporting, etc…)
-The option to keep the original image (to save it before or during processing)

Thanks for your comment!!!
Yep additional meta info is useful( sory, this is my first app and I dont know how to do that). I will do reserch about that.
Many people want the option “keep original image”.
I think I will add it.
thanks!!!
Another thing I’ve found using the app, is that I get a message that I should restart the iPhone due to a lack of memory. Is there something I could do to avoid this limitation? (emptying the camera roll, giving more space to system partition, etc… whatever) lately I’m getting this message after a few shots, and, although I can make a couple more shots restarting the app, after a couple restarts it won’t work unless I restart the iPhone…
TIA

When Toy Camera detects that a plenty of memory is ocupied other process like safari, music, email checker…
This is not HD space issue.
Toy Camera shows warning to avoid crash and losing photo.
So if you run iPhone so long time, just run / installed big application, or playing long music, it may show alert.
Now Im improving memory management more and more,
whenever you install ToyCamera’s update, it will become better.
i hope.
Thanks :-)
Toy Camera is my favorite App among all apps in my iPhone.
Post-processing works fine and it changes normal photos to very impressive photos.
Uncertainty in applying color filtering is fun and good idea (the option for selecting filters is also good).
My only one suggestion is the button for “Just save” function without applying color process in Preview page.
Sometimes, I want to save an original photo taken by Toy Camera without any process.
But, I can only choose “retake” or “Process”.
So, I have to use both “Camera” and “Toy Camera” depending on a subject.
Could you put “Just Save” button between “Retake” and “Use Photo”, please?
Even if it has few tiny bugs and leave some room for improvement in version-up, Toy Camera is still nice and wonderful App.
I love Toy camera and have fun with Toy Camera at any place, any time.
I really appreciate your development and expect becoming better.
I’ve been uploading my photos taken by Toy Camera on Flickr.com.
Welcome to see my 2 cents photos. :-)

I just upgraded to new version, after rebooting the iphone, took a picture with ToyCamera and got the warning of low memory (as usual, it processed the photo, but refused to shoot again)
Any idea on where to find a tutorial on how to manage the memory? (or what to do and what to do not in order to optimize memory usage on the iPhone)
TIA
>S. Park
Thanks for your using!!
>My only one suggestion is the button for “Just save” function without applying color process in Preview page.
Ok, I gonna think about it. If there is many people who want this function. I definitly add it.
Joan Carles “Vei” Tasies
OK I gonna check about it, and will update again. Now version is 1.2, Next will be 1.3.
Memory leaks or occupied by system when you run iPhone long time, play long music, having many window in safari, or install / run big application.
To reset mamory you need to hold Power button, and turn off iPhone and turn on it again.
I just realized that I got the message because I upgraded through the iphone with the iTStore app: After I force quited the app ToyCamera allowed me to take 16 photos -continously-without warning
Thanks!
I agree with SPark, but I’d prefer 4 options: just save, save and process, process and retake, and thus everybody would be happy (or mostly ;-)
I absolutely love the app! The results are really impresive! I’m not a big fan of the black and white versions tho so a way to change what filters are used would be nice! :)

Hi… can the pix be larger than 800 x 600 pls?
Hmm, many people what to sepalate Black and white from others.
I should think abou t some idea.

Sorry currently no. Toy Camera need mamy memory to process image. so it is difficult at this moment.
If I get more skill, it may possible for the future.
I just updated (within the iPhone itself by wifi) to the last version (1.2.1? I think) and after taking a picture and pressing the”use photo”it just get black for a moment and get back to the springboard… Is there anything I could do?
TIA
Joan sorry for tha,
Please turn off iPhone and restert, I think it fix problem.
Within three days, I will upload version 1.3.
It has much more stable version.
Just give me the time please.

I mean THANKS, off course sorry about the missing N…
Hi!
Just installed ver. 1.3..
disappointedly, I found that the fading corner effect for “yellowish style” has been removed!!
Though ver. 1.3 may seems to be more stable,
but the effects in ver. 1.2 is way better !!
I would rank effects in a way higher place..
simply because I bought the software for this purpose!
Anyway, thanks again for you hard work for bringing the software to all of us!
I do enjoy that!!
And now I decided to stay in ver. 1.2 though..
Jeff
and yes….could i add one more point which is..
I’d like to know if there would be an option like “saving the original photo” available? That would be even greater!!
Thank you again for your precious time man!!
Good luck and take care!
Jeff
>disappointedly, I found that the fading corner effect for “yellowish style” has been removed!!
I dint change any effect code between version 1.2 and 1.3…
So I think its just a result of randomness.
“saving the original photo” is some kind of frequentry asked request, when I fixed most of memory things (I thinks half of problem is iPhone OS…) and after some more hight priority things.
I should think about it.
Thanks for your oppinion.
This is one of my favorite apps, but the low resolution is a problem for me. I would love to see a much higher resolution option. (I know this is possible check out “CameraBag”). I realize this will take more processing/batteries but a good shot is definitely worth it I think. Great app — keep up the good work!

WOW. This is a great app. I have a Lomo and a Holga and love these camera’s.
My iPhone camera has always been a super camera, taking very interesting images. You have taken this a step further and created a very creative and enjoyable photo tool.
In future releases I would like to see more variety in the filtering and the way the image reacts to light and shadow, just like in a real film camera.
Full size 1600 x 1200 images would be good too (not sure if that is just a bug at the moment.)
I would also like to be able to turn off B&W captures, as I think your Old Camera app does this well and I think the Toy Camera should be like capturing onto colour film.
Keep up the great work on this.
Jei in the UK.
Hi–
Have just started to experiment with ToyCamera and it looks like a lot of fun.
I would also like to be able to save an unfiltered image. I would also really like to be able to choose the filter. Perhaps the app could have a non-random mode for us control freaks.
Thanks.
Do you have any similar apps written for desktops, more an after effect that you can apply to already existing images? Love the apps!
Thanks so much.

I dont have an iPhone but love what this feature does. Are there plans to make a filter/action for Photoshop? I would pay for this!
Hi man,
good work! I love this app :)
It would be great if these effects would work without rescaling in landscape mode. It seems to scale down the image for some unknown reason. Please fix this up.

I had seen this before, but I was happy with my purchase of CameraBag. But then I found QuadCamera this week and had to have it. QuadCamera was so awesome that I figured this one couldn’t be half bad. Now I own both, and you should, too. :)
It would be so awesome if Toy Camera added geolocation EXIF data to the photo. I love that the regular iPhone camera started doing this, and miss it.
To add to the comment above, what would make this app perfect for me would be the ability to take existing iPhone camera images and filter them non destructively, essentially using Toy Camera as a separate stand alone app. This way you would get an original image, Exif data intact, plus the cool effects.
I guess this would be easier to access than the phones GPS?
Anyway, as it is it is one of my favourite app!

Toy Camera made my iPhone a real B&W photo machine since months now. The app icon is in my four-icons main dock, ready to launch.
Toy Camera lovers will see in this 3.5 release a MAJOR UPGRADE, with the ability to increase the final resolution up to 1200×1600 pixels.
The UI interface has been re-designed with a clever set of icons, and re-organised options.
A must have.
The “keep the original” request is pointless to me.
All the purpose of Toy Camera is to… emulate a toy camera. Clic-it’s done, without any Command-Z. Keeping the original file would signify : to double the time process, double the memory occupation (or more, with the new 3 megapixels format), and divide by twice the interest of the app.
And above all, it would change the whole philosophy of Toy Camera, turning it to a vulgar filter applier. It would be easier, then, to take your photo with the built-in app, then process your pict with photoshop, with all the comfort of a real computer.
Can we import a picture from photoalbum to create the effect
I love the app & I agree that it should not be a filter. There are already plenty of filter apps out there. And I don’t think the black & white should be separate.
What’s the matter with all these whiners? If you don’t like the ToyCamera results, you can either cycle through the random settings till you get one you do like or tweak the results in another app that’s soley for photo editing–there’s plenty of them out there.
Thank you for making this app!
First of all, thank you for making this app! It’s become a favorite on my home screen. The effects make an ordinary picture amazing and nostalgic.
I wonder if in the future it would be possible to add these effects to video since the release of video in the iPhone 3Gs. Kind of like the Digital Harinezumi. Just throwing the idea out there.
As far as right now I’ve got no complaints with the app. It does exactly what it says and I’ve shot so many pics with it already. Thank you!
